My little one always struggled to sleep on planes with her legs dangling. This makes such a difference she can finally rest comfortably

Twenty-plus hours with a toddler. I honestly thought my legs would give out. Last time my ankles swelled and my legs were so heavy I could barely walk off the plane. With the hammock, my daughter slept for most of the long leg and I could stand, stretch and move around. We arrived tired, of course, but not broken. It made a trip to see family on the other side of the world feel doable again.
My knees are worn and I get pins and needles in my legs if I sit badly. I wanted to take my granddaughter on a little holiday but I wasn’t sure I could manage her on my lap. My daughter bought me the hammock and it was wonderful. She slept like an angel, and I could keep my legs comfortable and get up when I needed. I felt like I was part of the family adventure again, not someone who has to stay behind.
Even a four-hour flight used to leave my arms shaking and my lower back on fire from holding my daughter while she napped. I’m small, and she’s a big girl for her age. With the hammock she lay down comfortably and I could sit back, have a cup of tea and actually relax. It’s such a simple thing but it’s made me so much more confident about travelling on my own with her.
I used to say “let’s wait until the kids are older” every time my wife suggested somewhere far away. The truth was my back couldn’t handle another flight with a sleeping child on me. This little hammock fits in her handbag and takes seconds to set up. My son slept, I rested, and nobody around us was disturbed. We’ve booked two more trips this year.
I’m pregnant with our second and my back is already sore most days. The idea of a twelve-hour flight with a two-year-old on top of me genuinely scared me. The hammock changed everything. He lay down, snuggled with his blanket and slept, and I could recline and rest properly. I didn’t think travelling far was possible for us right now. It turns out it is.
My lower back has been dodgy since a gym injury years ago. Long flights with my son were brutal: hunched over, holding him at an awkward angle, trying not to wake him. By landing I’d be in proper pain. This time he slept stretched out and I just sat normally for the first time ever on a family flight. My wife and I are finally saying yes to the trips we kept putting off.
For two years I avoided long flights because of my back. Holding my son for nine hours on our last trip left me with a lower back so stiff I spent the first two days of the holiday barely able to bend over the hotel bed. This time I clipped the hammock to the tray table and he stretched out and slept for five hours straight. I actually stood up at the end of the flight without that sharp pain. We’re already looking at going back next summer, which I never thought I’d say
I’m 6'2" and economy is already hard on my knees. Add a toddler sleeping across my lap and by hour three my knees were throbbing and my legs had gone completely numb. With the hammock, my daughter had her own little bed and I could finally move my legs, get up and walk the aisle. Sounds small, but it’s the difference between arriving wrecked and arriving ready to enjoy the trip with my family.
We fly to see my parents every year and it’s always been the hardest part of the trip. My shoulders and neck would ache for days from holding my little one in the same position the whole flight. This year she slept flat in the hammock next to me and I had my arms back. I even watched a film. My mum couldn’t believe how fresh I looked when we landed. Now we’re planning to visit twice a year.
My mum lives abroad and I used to visit less than I wanted because the flight with my son exhausted me physically. My neck and shoulders would be locked for days. Now he lies down and sleeps in the hammock and I just rest next to him. I’ve been back to see my mum three times this year. That’s what this has given me: more time with my family.
I didn’t realise how tense I am on flights until I didn’t have to hold my son for hours. Normally I’d land with a sore back, tight hips and stiff legs. This time he slept flat and I could change position, stretch and even nap. Thirteen hours and I walked off the plane feeling human. My wife keeps telling everyone it’s the best thing we’ve bought for travelling.
We go to the Canaries every winter. Every year I’d get off the plane with my lower back in knots and a stiff neck. My daughter would only sleep on me, and I’d sit frozen so I wouldn’t wake her. The hammock gave her a cosy little bed of her own and gave me my body back. I rested, I read, and we started the holiday in a good mood instead of a sore one.
I had knee surgery last year and my physio told me to keep my legs moving on long flights. With a toddler sleeping on me, that just wasn’t possible. With the hammock, my son slept stretched out next to me and I could get up every hour like I was supposed to. It meant I didn’t have to choose between travelling with my family and looking after my knees.
I’m a single mum and travelling alone with my little girl used to wear me out, mostly because I had no break from holding her. My arms and back would ache all through the holiday. With the hammock she fell asleep within minutes and I finally had a moment for myself. It’s given me the confidence to take her to new places, just the two of us.
My grandsons wanted to take me to Florida and I was hesitant because of my back. Sitting badly for hours is the worst thing for me. With the hammocks the boys slept the whole night flight and I could sit comfortably and rest. I enjoyed every day of the holiday with them. At my age, that’s priceless.

I had a C-section a year ago and my core still isn’t fully strong. Holding a heavy toddler for hours puts so much pressure on my back and stomach. The hammock let my son lie flat and sleep while I could sit properly and rest. I didn’t feel that deep ache I usually get after long journeys. Finally, I can travel without dreading the flight.
I’m on my feet all day for work and my knees are not great. On flights I’d be stuck with my daughter across me, unable to stretch, and my legs would cramp up. With the hammock she slept and I could stretch my legs into the aisle when it was quiet, get up and walk. I landed ready to drive, explore and enjoy my time with the family instead of needing a day to recover.
